IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING
By entering you acknowledge you have read understood and agree to the following terms as a condition of participation in the Holme Howler obstacle race:
1. Voluntary Participation and Assumption of Risk
All runners must attend the race briefing to be held 10 minutes before the race start at the Start Line and have registered and collected race numbers before this time.
I understand that participation in the Holme Howler is voluntary and involves strenuous physical activity, including but not limited to running, climbing, crawling, and navigating natural and man-made obstacles.
I acknowledge that these activities carry inherent risks of injury or illness. I freely accept and assume all such risks known and unknown.
2. Personal Responsibility for Safety and Obstacle Participation
Although this event is risk assessed and covered by appropriate event insurance I understand that my own personal safety is ultimately my own responsibility.
I agree to follow safety signs and marshal’s instructions and safety advice throughout the course as well as evaluate each obstacle and terrain feature on the course and to not attempt and safely bypass any part of the race or obstacle that I deem poses and unacceptable risk to my health and safety.
4. Water hazards and obstacles with water
I acknowledge that any water found on the course is not treated or tested. I agree to take every reasonable precaution to avoid ingesting water and to avoid prolonged exposure.
5. Reporting Concerns
If I observe any hazards, unsafe conditions, Injuries, or concerns for myself or fellow participants, I will report them immediately to the nearest race marshal or event official.
6. Health and Medical Readiness
I confirm that l am physically fit and have no medical conditions that would prevent my safe participation in the event.
I agree to inform race marshals or event First Aid if I experience any discomfort, injury or health issues during the race. If I choose to not inform or refuse medical attention when offered this will be recorded as a “refusal of treatment”. I understand that by refusing or not informing I take full responsibility for all risks associated with my injury or health issue including worsening of conditions or further injury.
7. Refunds and Transfers
Refunds or transfers to another event are offered at the discretion of the Holme Howler committee. If for whatever reason you are unable to participate in the event either from unforeseen circumstances, medical reasons or injury that you were unaware of at the time of booking, please contact us via e-mail holmehowler@gmail.com
8. Photographs and Video
Participants give permission for photographs or films to be taken during Holme Howler events and the Holme Howler and Holme Village association reserve the right to use such photographs for publicity or to promote future events. For participants under the age of 16 we will not use any photographs or video footage without permission from parental/guardian consent.
9. Release of Liability
In consideration of being allowed to participate in this event, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs executors, and administrators. I hereby release and discharge the event organisers, volunteers, sponsors, landowners, and affiliated parties from any and all liability for Injuries, losses, or damages that may result from my participation in the event or race
